My involvement
I believe in Giving unselfishly to the world you live in and the people you encounter. I am running for Benson City Council because I believe in performing civic duty. There are many ways a citizen of the United States may perform Constitutional rights. I know that I can give to my community neighbors representation in their government.
My background
My name is Derek Shemon. I was born at the old Chippewa County Hospital in 1976. I graduated from Montevideo, MN and the University of South Dakota. My education is in Applied Earth Science and General Business. I have previously worked in Construction, Agriculture, and Transportation. I currently am involved in planning at CNH Industrial in Benson Minnesota. After 10 years in Miami, FL I moved back to Western Minnesota and the City of Benson in 2021.
